FOR THIS REASON, THE EMBASSY ASKS YOU TO BE SURE BEFORE YOU MAKE TRANSFER PAYMENTS FOR SERVICES AND TO SEEK CLARIFICATION IF NOT SURE.

Requirements for the issuance / reissue of Nigerian E-passport

To apply for the standard Nigerian E-passport or a reissue (RENEWAL) of an expiring/expired one, you will need to do the following:

Visit this website: www.immigration.gov.ng

  1. Click on “e-passport application form”; select “Standard Passport”. Log in through a google or yahoo email address

  2. fill the forms, submit online and print out

  3. Proceed to payment and pay the passport fee which will be indicated in Dollars with your Visa or Master card; All payment must be made online. Bank transfers are not acceptable in this particular case, please. All administrative charges for passport and visa is suspended with effect from, the 13.04.2017, until further notice.

  4. Print out confirmation of payment and acknowledgement slip.

Payments made in lieu of application for the new E-Standard passports are non-refundable.

Other requirements for passport


For all standard e-passport applicants
The Following instruments are put in place to guide our issuance of e-passports to Nigerians
All e-passport applicants must henceforth hand in the following documents in person:
 
1.   Formally written and signed application for first-time issuance,         reissue of expired/expiring/lost  standard e-passport with or           without change of data as applicable;
2.   Duly completed and signed online application form
3.   Proof of online payment
4.   Two passport photographs
5.   The Guarantor form: Henceforth, the guarantor form which must accompany every application must be duly completed. All the required details of the guarantor such as the telephone number, email address, passport photograph, residential address, passport data page must be provided as well.
6.   All other documents required for the various cases, which include the following:
 
 
E-passport First-time Applicants
Ø Birth Certificate
Ø Certificate of Origin / Certificate of Identification from the applicant’s LGA in Nigeria
Ø Copy of any other passport in the applicant’s possession
Ø Copy of residents’ registration document (Anmeldebestätigung)
 
Children under the Age of 18
Ø Letter of consent written and signed by both biological parents
Ø Copies of both parents’ passport data pages
 
 
E-passport Reissue (Renewal) Cases:
Ø Original Copy of expiring / expired e-passport
Ø Copy of residence permit
Ø Copy of residents’ registration (Anmeldebestätigung)
 
Lost Passport cases
Ø Copy of lost passport data page showing passport number and date of issue
Ø Original copy of police report on the loss of passport
Ø Copy of residence permit or any other valid proof of residence in Germany
Ø Copy of residents’ registration document (Anmeldebestätigung)
 
Change of data due to marriage , divorce or death of spouse
Ø Marriage Certificate
Ø Statutory evidence of change of name due to marital status
Ø Newspaper publication done in any national Nigerian newspaper
Ø Evidence of maiden name
Ø Proof of spouse identity such as spouse passport data page, etc.
Ø Current passport booklet  and copy of data page of the applicant
Ø Divorce certificate (for divorcees only)
Ø Certificate of death of spouse or any other legally acceptable valid document (for widows only)
Ø Copy of residents’ registration document (Anmeldebestätigung)


Passport Guarantor Form

  1. Download the passport guarantor form from the same website as above, print the two pages of the guarantor form and get the guarantor’s form completed by a guarantor who must be an adult Nigerian

  1. Attach a passport photograph of the guarantor in the provided column on page 1

  1. Attach a copy of the data page of the guarantor’s Nigerian passport to the duly completed and signed guarantor form

  1. Two passport photographs

  1. Photocopy of birth certificate or statutory Declaration of Age

  1. Photocopies of page 1, data page and visa page on the old passport. If the visa is in a separate card, please photocopy the front and back pages of the card

Additional Requirement for Children:

A letter of consent written and signed by the biological father and the biological mother with copies of the data pages of their passports
Where only one party has custody rights, please bring proof of sole (100%) custody rights from the Court or Youth Welfare Office (Jugend Amt).

Additional Requirements for non-residents (i.e. those who are not officially resident in Germany)

A letter of introduction from the Embassy in the country they live in. If there is no Embassy of Nigeria in that country, they should get the letter from the Embassy covering that country (e.g. The Nigerian Embassy in Sweden currently covers most of the Scandinavian countries)
